However, nestled in Costa Mesa, Winter Fest OC magically transforms the OC Fair & Event Center (commonly known as the Orange County Fairgrounds) into Southern California’s largest outdoor winter wonderland. Running from November 22 through January 5, 2025, Winter Fest OC is like a miniature OC Fair sprinkled with holiday magic.
From the moment you step in, you’re greeted by a flurry of holiday cheer. This event boasts an array of attractions including an outdoor ice-skating rink under the stars, cozy fireside igloos, a snow play area perfect for children, a 150-foot Snowflake Summit ice tubing slide, and the chance to capture memories with Santa. With 26 carnival rides, a dazzling light show, deep-fried fair cuisine sure to make your cardiologist cringe, and festive decorations, Winter Fest OC offers dozens of winter-themed photo ops.
Parents of younger children will particularly appreciate the dedicated 8,000 square foot snow play area with snow slide and snow carousel, as well as a section of the carnival featuring rides designed for kids shorter than 42 inches. The picture opportunities are delightful, with interactive scenes, characters, and unexpected decorations like a holiday gorilla adding to the whimsy.
Winter enthusiasts and parents alike are sure to enjoy Winter Fest OC. You'll leave with fantastic photos and happy, entertained kids. To get the best value, purchase your tickets online—ticket prices at the gate can be double the online rate. If you're bringing children, consider adding an Unlimited Carnival Ride Wristband or upgrading to the Ultimate Experience Admission. Although ticket prices might be higher than expected, a trip to Costa Mesa is much more convenient than a trek to the mountains, and it doesn’t require snow chains.
