Dan Da Dan currently on Netflix and Crunchyroll
Oooh, we've been waiting on this one and even missed one Hell of a premiere at AX, but this killer show has just started coming out. Over-the-top animation from Science Saru sells the killer plot of two teenage school kids dealing with both aliens, evil spirits and some romcom action. Not to mention losing one's "banana." Momo's turning into a high level psychic and Okarun is turning his curse into something else.
It fits in with the horror element of the season with all the ghosts and curses they battle, but also how creepy and intense scenes can shift to. A perfect peanut butter and jelly mix of sci-fi and supernatural. Enjoy each episode as it comes out.
*Editor's thought-For me, it's so strange to see the older ways of this anime being handled gone. Like this not going up on Toonami. It's being handled by Gkids, which will soon be part of Toho and usually you'd see this going to Viz as they own the manga license for North America.
Can't believe how much this one still hits today. Was waiting for it since seeing just a picture on Bloody Disgusting of a nasty gnarled finger up the Shawn's nose.
Deadstream is about a streamer trying to claw his way back to Internet fame by streaming from a supposed haunted house. What ensues is a modern day version of Evil Dead, but with a protagonist that fully deserves it. Shawn is every jerk you've seen hocking an energy drink and pulling pranks on people who don't deserve it. Writer/Director Joseph Winters plays the part perfectly as you don't feel too bad when he get his for being such a douche.
A modern horror comedy that'll have you laughing as much as you are grossed out by the pratical special effects.
Dude Bro Party Massacre III streaming free on Tubi or for rent or purchase digitally almost everywhere. Blu-ray/DVD, it just sold out a new Blu-ray on Vinegar Syndrome
Where do I even begin? There are no Dude Bro Party Massacre I or II's. We start at the third one as it's a parody of the 80's slasher sorority movies. Flipping it on it's side and having the killer taking out a frat instead. That's one of many insane ideas into having non-stop jokes and insane plot points every few seconds.
Shown as though ripped from a terrible VHS copy from a late night showing of the film it's hard to stop and not go what the Hell is happening? The main story slowly fades away as a twin brother tries to figure out if the killer Motherface is back from the dead and to blame for their siblings death or someone from his brother's frat has snapped. No answer will matter.
Probably one of the best parts and something you may not realize as the film goes by fast is the frat itself comes off as the heroes, but if you pay attention they are actually the cause of so much strife and death for their poor city of Chico.
I'm so unsure why none of the people in the film aren't doing more comedies now as this always gets new watchers going crazy for it.
