My Famicase Exhibition – LA 2024 August 2 – August 26

The My Famicase Exhibition returns to LA, check out all the fake games that you wish could be real. It's always so amazing when we get this. Here's our top picks from this year.

If you haven't heard of it before, My Famicase is an art exhibit featuring made-up games for the Japanese version of the NES, the Famicom. People from around the world create Famicom cartridge labels and Famicase puts them on real cartridges as though they were real games that came out. The art/game differs per artist, but it's fun to see what random games are created.

From the official site:

"&& Gallery is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting the 20th anniversary of the My Famicase Exhibition, traveling from METEOR in Tokyo, Japan.

Founded in 2005 by METEOR, a distinguished gallery & retro-games shop in Tokyo, Japan, the MY FAMICASE EXHIBITION invites participants to conceive an original Famicom game concept. Using the iconic Famicom cartridge as their canvas, entrants design the label for their imaginary game.

This milestone year celebrates two decades of creativity, showcasing 250 distinctive cartridge designs submitted from over 30 countries! We are delighted to bring this exhibition directly from METEOR & offer the US audience a chance to experience all submissions firsthand. Visitors to MY FAMICASE EXHIBITION – LA will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Famicom design, continuing the cherished tradition of the Japanese showcase."
