Ahhh, nature, such grand beauty and majesty. Oh, look over there a slow-witted zombie man with a old turn-of-the-century firefighter's mask. Such beauty.
In a Violent Nature could have been an instant horror cult classic. With a premise about following the under killer from their perspective. And, following them as they take their time wandering through the forest. It be fun to find the artsy in the 80's b-Horror movie classic. And, it almost pulls it off. Almost.
John, Johnny is a resurrected vengeful monster who just wants his locket back and he goes after 20-something douches who deserve to die after they woke him up.
This is very much built upon the genre of Jason/ Friday the 13th and a million other rip-offs. That part, it has down. Some lovely brutal kills that might even make you laugh or throughout.
As a horror fan, this was a strangely soothing almost ASMR addicting romp in the woods. If they still existed, I'd want to see our lead, a hulking mess, lurching around my monitor in the wilderness as a screensaver. That is the main movie, enjoying nature with an undead murderer. The forest isn't scary with him, it's serene.
Once again, some amazing nature shots, with our friend, the killer.
All of it gets undone with a third act back into the perspective of one of the victims. Back to someone running into the woods and forest being scary again. The point of it, is now fear/PTSD/drama isn't gonna leave that person. Maybe Johnny will get them, but it doesn't matter, because fear is the mind killer.
And, after spending so much time with our lead, it seems like such a lesser ending, a cope out. The director shows he has the look, but not the writing chops to complete the story in a satisfactory way.
It did not need to end with more violence, my blood-lust was satiated, but the tacked on last ten minutes from someone else's perspective to the same old horror story...no, thanks.
It hurts, because with a minor tweak to the end, it would have easily been a favorite for the year.

OMG over 120 products!?! I just...I just think the title is terrible. Did an AI write that headline or someone with a lack of English understanding? Why ANN? Why? It be nice if the booth had something else cool about it. Oh, wait...
Wait...wait, you'll get this ultra boring looking bag. Only, if you spend $30 or more.
And, as we always say in America, "Once you reach the set amount of [purchase benefits] you'll get a special bag with no characters or art from any of the 9 series that 120 + products we're selling are from."
Holy, we have to show off how boring this is. This is an awful looking bag.
Someone should be in trouble at Kadokawa and frankly it looks like sponsored content on ANN.

If anyone gives us the bag, find our e-mail and contact us. First person to do so, we'll feature you on the site, whatever you're social media or work you want to show off and we'll go over what you bought and what you thought of the bag.

This ending theme, I mean chef's kiss. It totally captures the sense of humor and how dumb the anime is. Suicide Squad Isekai, out now, doesn't even feature Waller, the Suicide Squad's boss, in the series for that long. Most of her actual screen time might be this outro.
After watching three episodes all say... WB’s or some part of that huge corporation probably thought they would get a huge boost from the Suicide Squad game that sucks. They didn't know it would be doing so bad. The series was commissioned probably two years ago and was just waiting for a release after completion. So, the demand was based on wants from a ways back.
It’s fun trash, you can tell the Japanese team had fun making it. Many jokes make no sense, I don’t think their version of American humor goes over well. Overall writing, the small talk characters say to each other and the bad translated sub make it an anime from a decade ago.
Still, gotta love Clayface reinterpreted as Michael Jackson.
Welcome to the Pigsty, Master! Opening June 28 and running until July 28, Akiba Maid War Café is Little Tokyo’s newest immersive experience set in the bizarre and absurd world of the popular anime series Akiba Maid War. Gangs of violent gun-toting Yakuza cosplay maids rule the streets of Akihabara where cuteness is justice, and moé (a Japanese concept of feeling strong affection) is not just a calling, but a way of life.
Ton Tokoton!, translating in English to The Oinky Doink Café!, is a pig-themed café where the maids dress with pig-themed accessories (e.g., bows with cute little pig nose accents, pig ears, etc.) and act like cute pigs. When they make pig trotter hand signs don’t make the mistake I did and respond with the Vulcan Salute, aka, Spock’s “Live Long and Prosper” hand gesture. Maids incorporate puns involving pigs whenever possible and deliver the occasional snort here and there for good measure, all in good fun and consistent with the TV series.
Combining an authentic-ish maid café experience with theatrical and musical elements, here, the maid performers not only entertain, but they serve themed food from the anime (complete with ketchup drawing service), re-enact key scenes from the series, and dance during the Oinky Doink Live Porkformance Showings.
All with ridiculous names, the three entrees include Porker’s Omurice (Ham Omurice), Heart Kyun! Curry (Chicken Curry Rice), and Piglet Cutlet Bento (Tonkatsu Bento). Both the Ham Omurice and the Chicken Curry Rice include drawing services where maid performers decorate meals with ketchup. TTDILA strongly recommends the Porker’s Omurice as the omelet provides a good canvas for ketchup art.
Beverages include Oinky Doinky Drink, a soft drink with a “taste enhancing spell included,” Piggy Pearl Iced Coffee, and Oinky Doink Water. Piggy Wiggy Cookie Ice Cream is available for dessert.
The event ends with goodbyes and a decorated Polaroid from your lovely maid to commemorate the occasion.
Ticket prices range between $25 and $80 and are by reservation only. Each show is limited to 52 guests arranged into 13 tables of 4 chairs. This capacity limit and seating arrangement is important to note because prime time slots will likely sell out — especially in the days immediately before, during, and after Anime Expo.
Akiba Maid War is available for streaming on HIDIVE and on Blu-ray from Sentai, and officially licensed, event-exclusive merchandise is available for purchase. Oink it up, baby!
