A while back we heard word of a Crystal Lake series based on the Friday the 13th franchise, getting the rights for everything is its on Hell, but it happened. Since a series order for 2022 on Peacock with A24 we hypothesized what the show would be about and if there would be a female Jason, because you know "fresh ideas." Black Jason? Whatever our thoughts were, they have to change as Bryan Fuller, the former show-runner/creator of it, has exited the project.
What we're not sure of, is if the project is really dead or undead like Jason himself. What Bloody D is reporting is that the show will be retooled minus the man who brought it together, Bryan Fuller.
Another strange part of it and why it might have to stay in production?
From Bloody D earlier on when the show was announced,
“Fuller has pitched four seasons for Crystal Lake. Only one officially ordered so far though he notes Peacock would have to pay a pretty hefty penalty if they didn’t order a Season 2,” Goldman’s thread continues."
So, even if Fuller leaves running it, he'll still get paid for helping create it and apparently get a pay day if they don't give him a season 2? Maybe Peacock has to make it or just pay Fuller a ton of money.
