"The
American Cinematheque proudly presents 'This Is Not A Fiction,' a
documentary and non-fiction film festival from April 10th to 18th, 2024.
Spanning nine days across three venues—Aero Theatre, Egyptian Theatre,
and Los Feliz 3—the festival showcases 43 films and 11 short films,
hosts over 20 filmmakers and subjects for in-person Q&As, celebrates
with a special anniversary panel, and unveils six premieres.
The inaugural festival includes a dynamic lineup of repertory classics, cutting-edge documentaries, television programs, experimental works, essay films, fiction and more. 'This Is Not A Fiction' goes beyond the limits of genre, with a lineup reflecting the boundless possibilities of non-fiction storytelling, and is a celebration of non-fiction as a form of filmmaking and its profound impact on our lives, from its influence in art and entertainment to its power in education, political advocacy and social discourse."

Why
go to Coachella when you have PalyFest? The special annual TV show
panels series where the shows are celebrated at the Dolby. Still sad the
museum is gone, but the fest remains. Check out if any of your favorite
shows will have a panel. Or see if any of the shows you don't like have
a panel and wear a shirt sharing your views...just y'know, no
expletives. He's Young Sheldon, keep it clean. And, Larry David isn't
going to listen to you about how he screwed up with crypto, he went
after Elmo...Elmo.
The Family Guy panel looks like it'll be fun.

Originally crafted in 1981, Hooray LA was the last new show Bob created and encapsulates his vision of the city, complete with an oil derrick kickline and the finding of gold in an onion patch. Last year, Bob Baker Marionette Theater updated the show to include more voices and perspectives from within the city, including working with community partners to create more cultural and historical accuracy in a loving tribute to the city.
