Formed in 2009, the American Genre Film Archive (AGFA) is an Austin, TX-based non-profit
committed to preserving both the legacy of genre film and the theatrical experience itself. Through collection, conservation and distribution, AGFA has rescued over 100 feature films from the void. Housing theatrical and video distribution arms, a 4K film scanner and over six thousand 35mm prints, AGFA will never rest until genre movies rule the world.
Join us for an expansive series of screenings based upon some of AGFA’s favorite in-house projects, including the works of exploitation film pioneer Doris Wishman, underground trash-art king Jon Moritsugu, Riot Grrrl icon Sarah Jacobson, found-footage founder Joe Dante and the world restoration premiere of Dave Markey’s ‘80s L.A. punk rock opus Desperate Teenage Lovedolls.
