We would recommend not missing the First Sunset Unveiling of Cristopher Cichocki’s Rising Inversion outdoor installation at Main Beach on November 2, as well as the audiovisual performance, Circular Dimensions - Rising Inversion on November 4.

Our quarterly Food and Film series continues with a tasty sampling menu of short films by the Lumière brothers, Martha Rosler, RaMell Ross, Chick Strand, Charles and Ray Eames and others, concluding with Les Blank’s Werner Herzog Eats His Shoe (1980). Each film illuminates different facets of our relationship with food and each other. This program was curated with the collaboration of legendary chef and restaurateur Alice Waters. The screening can be paired with a special dinner inspired by the selections at Lulu restaurant at the Hammer Museum, Waters’ latest culinary celebration.

Kaoru Tono heard a rumor: The laws of space and time mean nothing to the Urashima Tunnel. If you find it, walk through and you'll find your heart's desire on the other side...in exchange for years of your own life. One night, Kaoru just so happens to find himself standing in front of a tunnel that looks suspiciously like the one the rumor describes. He finds himself thinking of Karen, the sister he lost in an accident five years ago. To Kaoru's surprise, he's been followed by the new transfer student Anzu Hanashiro, who promises to help him experiment with the mysterious tunnel—but what does she want from Kaoru in exchange? And what will he have left to give, after the tunnel's done with him?

These are from the same people who did the Anime Riverside convention earlier this year and we had a great time. This is a smaller anime convention surrounded with easy access parking and food, you can walk around and just enjoy downtown Pasadena.
It has everything you want in an anime convention just in a smaller scale so use your time wisely and get to the panels and artists you want before they sell out or get too busy. In any case be sure to just enjoy the cosplay and chill. They have some decent voice actor panels to check out. We recommend the closing Okamoto Kitchen Anime for a watch, it's ridiculous.
