Our version of Edinburgh fringe festival is back and ready with just some super weird fun. There's Sir David Attenboroug's BUGS!, Les Millénniables, a parody pop musical offering a satirical look at the plight of the generation deemed “millennials." Boom, Headshot! A Geek Tragedy, a guild of close-knit, basement-dwelling MMORPG players takes on the apocalypse from the ephemeral safety of their avatars. Losing Your Humanity is a new musical which explores the way a family might deal with a zombie outbreak that hits close to home.

Korea’s #MeToo movement was first introduced in art and cultural institutions and industries in 2016 and soon expanded to more mainstream outlets of society. The screening series presents contemporary films directed by women from Korea, exploring subjects such as domestic violence, gender and class dynamics, the relationship between humanity and nature, and themes of love and friendship. Each film offers a distinct viewpoint, reflecting the director's perceptive, sensitive, and genuine approach. Together, these 10 films serve as a tour that highlights the rise of Korean women directors in the industry. Prominent director and women's advocate Yim Soon-rye will join us for post-screening conversations for her films Waikiki Brothers (2001) and Little Forest (2018).
