Coachella Weekend 1 starts this Friday, LA might seem less congested as some of the folks have decided to head out early. Just be careful on the roads to and from our city as big treks of teenagers/college kids and whomever is headed to Coachella/Palm Springs.
Out there they'll enjoy music acts and overprices everything. Have fun.

From director Makoto Shinkai, a new anime film in wide release. We love the look of someone transformed into a cute chair.

This six-feature marathon of lo-fi sci-fi comes from the archives of Secret Sixteen: L.A.’s sickest hand-picked stockpile of this wondrous film format.
Join Secret Sixteen founder Mike Williamson, Josh Miller (Friday Night Frights) and Bret Berg (Museum of Home Video) for a 12-hour blast of cyberjunk comforts. These movie-collecting miscreants decided we needed to go even harder than our marathon with them last October by busting open their trove of dystopian future shocks and scares that lovingly hearkens back to some dingy bong basement memory.

Designed to revitalize the depopulated Japanese island of Inujima (“Dog Island”) by integrating contemporary art, the Inujima “Art House Project” creates a unique symbiosis between art, architecture, community, and ecology that has been transforming the landscape of Inujima. The exhibition celebrates and transports visitors to this “living art” island through the sights and sounds of everyday island life, captured through an experiential diorama of the island and its art pavilions.
