Pioneertown International Film Festival Aug 27th-29th
$tarts at Weekend Pass $295, No individual screenings
Tickets on sale til Aug 4th
If you want to escape from LA for weekend there might not be a better place than Pioneertown. It's having it's first film festival the last weekend of August. This special event takes place where all the cowboys shows and westerns were shot outside of LA. About 40 minutes from Palm Springs and your in your own Western. It's a fun tourist trap town we've written about before.
The Pioneertown International Film Festival is a bit different. You can't just grab tickets to individual showings. You've got to go for the weekend pass to enjoy both the screenings and activities that include live music. Check out what's happening here.
You've got Neo Westerns to watch, restores calssics from Paramount and even some horseback rising if you RSVP.
The whole event sounds like something that should have happened in Pioneertown long ago. An underutilized place to visit on the weekend for LA folks.
And some other good news, they finally opened Pioneer Bowl. A cute old-style bowling alley ...in the old west. Pretty sure they didn't have bowling back then, but what better way to tell someone how you're weekend went. "Oh yeah, went to the old west and went bowling." This place looks to only be open on Saturdays though.
Only Saturdays 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
