My Famicase 2021 Favs

Here our or favs from this year's My Famicase 2021 cartridge art show with totally made-up video games.

Game Hype: E3 Online, My Famicase 2021, You've Got Game Show, Let's Look At Bunch of Trailers & More

E3's Online Game Event Set for June 12-15 With Nintendo, Microsoft, More Companies
E3 isn't happening in LA this year, but it will happen online.

My Famicase 2021 is now online, we'll probably post our favs later, but check them out online now. This is a video game cartridge art show from Japan with made up game titles.

iam8bit created a game show for the GDC, now Xbox has it and boy does it not look as fun. Still, entertaining though and probably the only game show on video games. Still, not sure why cryptocurrency is needed for charity...anyway give it a watch.

Staples will laminate your vaccine card until the end of the month for free. Office Max/Depot will do it for free until July 25th as long as you present this coupon. Remember to do it after getting both shots.

 Who wanted this?

Well, if it's just voice acting it might be good, but other projects Banks does on her own like the Charlie's Angels reboot, don't seem to go so well.

As LA isn't exactly still normal, we're suggest visiting Palm Springs nearby for the weekend or when you have some free time. We've been covering Desert X, the outdoor art exhibits that are only up until May, for a while now. We're showing a few more off. It's fun to get away from it all and find these different art exhibits scattered around Coachella.

Don't forget how the official Desert X shirt leads you to the Pacific Ocean.

Boozehounds Is For Dogs & Humans

Last week, we told you about Boozehounds, the brand new dog-friendly bar and restaurant opening in Palm Springs. Over the weekend, we got in for a special visit, before its opening to the general public, this Tuesday. Here's some photos of the first dogs to take walkies around the place.

Opens Tuesday, April 27th
Coffee Service starts at 8am – 3pm,
Happy Hour 3pm-5pm,
Dinner 5pm – 10pm (sun-thurs) 11pm (fri & sat).
2080 N Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA

-Turns out the pups are welcome in the the outdoor and indoor patio, with plenty of air conditioning and misters, but can't go all the way in.

-The place does look great, even the restrooms have some doggy style to them.

-We did see a doggo get itself up on the bar and knock a drink over, but noticeably the cup was hard plastic, no broken glass. And  messes made by stray dog bowls were also cleaned up. No, accidental dumps we're taken while there, but we're assuming there's protocol in place.

-What you're seeing the dogs eat in the pictures is the special doggy dessert,
weenie-tini made of chicken broth, chicken whipped cream & doggie biscuit crumble.

-Yes, they have merch.

Local Hype: Those Aren't Ghosts in the USC Libraries, The Whole Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shrimp Saga, Actual Good Eats & More

You've might have read about the Whole Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shrimp Saga a few weeks ago, but we at TTDILA found it truly strange and unreal as the person at the center of it is Jensen Karp, co-owner of local pop art gallery, Gallery 1988.

Let's go back for the uninitiated. Jensen says and posted pics online that he found shrimp tails in his Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Because Jensen is known as a comedian writer, among many other titles, many took this as a joke. General Mills, owner of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, customer service did a really bad job of handling it. The last update from Jensen was that he was waiting for an envelope from General Mills to send them the two, what seem to be, shrimp tails, from his cereal.

This is a really great break down of what's happened on social media and it's insane how dumb General Mills has been about it.

6 Social-Media Lessons From Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shrimp

What TTDILA finds so strange, is we primarily know Jensen from running Gallery 1988. We just posted on two  Gallery 1988 art shows this week. You sometimes forget he has a very vivid back story and even married the actress who played Topanga, named after Topanga, from Boy Meets World.

We've seen him preparing or schmoozing with guests at his shows multiple times or just taking out a huge pizza for an opening. It's weird how the internet talks so much about his other endeavors as to us he primarily just runs a really cool art gallery in LA.

What's also strange is the lack of LA based media covering it, with many reports coming from New York. And some very negative posts of Jensen from women on Twitter.

The Cinnamon Toast Crunch–Shrimp Saga Is Getting Dark

It's all very strange, but we'll update you if there's any more news about it. Kind of amazed  Gallery 1988 isn't doing some special art show themed around it or at least a special print. Hmmm, well, at least they're not selling NFT's yet. Let's hope, there's no Netflix show based on this.

That explains all those extra legs and eyes, but seriously this is truly messed up.

"Between 2011 and 2013, the professor and his crew, on their own time, used a camera attached to an autonomous vehicle to scour the ocean floor, 3,000 feet deep, between Long Beach and Catalina Island. What they found was sickening – literally and figuratively."
