Kajillionaire comes out Sep 18th, supposedly in theaters, but we're thinking VOD.
* We're a big fan of Miranda July and seeing what kind of crazy shes' come up with.
From acclaimed writer/director Miranda July comes a profoundly moving and wildly original comedy. Con-artists Theresa (Debra Winger) and Robert (Richard Jenkins) have spent 26 years training their only daughter, Old Dolio (Evan Rachel Wood), to swindle, scam, and steal at every opportunity. During a desperate, hastily conceived heist, they charm a stranger (Gina Rodriguez) into joining their next scam, only to have their entire world turned upside down.
Scare Me comes out Oct 1st on Shudder and we're pretty interested. We're not sure if it's just a horror movie, but maybe a meta look into the fun of scaring someone with a scary story.
Nightmstream is an upcoming online horror film festival set for Oct 8-11. Oddly, it's a Frankenstein-ed, stitched together fest as five horror film festivals have come together to make one. No word on what's showing , but they want you to buy early bird passes already. We'll give you updates if there's anythign worth seeing.
Also taking place in October, AFI Fest, one of our favs in LA that usually happens in November. It's gonna only be online. No word on what's gonna be shown either. AFI Fest is now Oct 15-22 via LA Times.
