This is a strange one that you might want to play alongside the much more boring pandemic we're having indoors. Why not enjoy a disaster outside with the oddly titled Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories that starts at Christmas...for some reason; odd choice. This franchise has been here for a while, the first game being on the PS2. The latest game is an odd mix of survival and listening to people and their problems. You can choose to be a man or a woman, why you're out and about during the diasaster and if you're helpful or a jerk. There's a lot of prompts in this game.
My favorite part at the very start was having multiple prompts on how to react about an earthquake happening. I decided to nervously hum. Which, was funny to see my character do.
A problem arose while playing. After meeting a few interesting people, amd one very sad man in a "park". I didn't know where to go or what to do next. I had some missions like finding some lost high school girls or what not, but I had no idea on how to find them. I'm guessing the game thinks you've played other games in the series before. Because, after a while, I didn't know what I was suppose to do. Apparently, you just talk to more and more people. And then escape from earthquakes and then go rafting.
It's fun to talk to those people, like your in a poorly written Japanese TV show drama. And you can give some pretty rude and idiotic answers to see how things come out. The shaking was a bit unrealistic and silly. Buildings collapsed in front of me and the mood was...meh.
I'm not sure about the price tag, it's a full price game and maybe it should have went for being a bit more of a bargain.
If you want to navigate a real disaster and be an utter jerk to those around you. Meet every stereotypical character seen in the background of a Japanese movie. Why not play this quirky survival sim of a earthquake distraught Japan?
