We don't even know what to call this type of protest, but a group called Citizens’ Brigade to Save LACMA has come up with 6 alternate designs to the current plans for what LACMA is going to look like when it gets rebuilt. And the current plan for LACMA looks pretty bad. The problem here is that the group has no say on LACMA choosing any of the designs, it's like drawing fan fiction for an art museum. Alternative reality LACMA, if you will. It just shows how many people are against the revamp of the museum looking like a minimalist bicycle route.
Just saw someone mention this on social media and intrigued us. How did someone decide to cut open someone to fix them?

& Wirth announces the gallery’s first entirely VR-based exhibition
under the newly launched research and innovation arm ArtLab. Opening on
30 April, the group exhibition, entitled ‘Beside Itself’, will take
place in the gallery of the future Hauser & Wirth Menorca, allowing
visitors a first look at the art centre ahead of its opening in 2021.
Visitors will be able to experience the exhibition created in HWVR, a
first in virtual reality exhibition modeling, through the gallery’s

Secret Movie Club is experimenting with news ways we can all come
together as a community and watch great movies. This Saturday, May 2,
2020 @ 8p Pacific Daylight Time, we'll be hosting a Netflix Party
screening of Orson Welles' final feature film THE OTHER SIDE OF THE
WIND which was shot in the mid-70's but not completed until 2018 when
all legal wrangling, editing, etc had finally been worked out.
Thinkspace is pleased to present “Cuando Baje La Marea (When the Tide Comes Down)”
from Mexico City artist Hilda Palafox, also known as Poni. The artist’s
absorbing works often contain the female form. The artist shares,

with brilliant photo-realism.

When looking through AAA's Westways we spotted this lovely piece of postcard art from Steve Thomas, a pretty dope International Banana Museum postcard. And we've been there, we've been to the museum. And their postcards don't look as a good. So, we're suggesting the proprietors of the museum get Steve's art as their new postcard.

OHHHH! NOOOOOO! It's been a while since I screamed that at my TV. The movie with cats in it didn't entice me to scream, "AHHHHHHHH!" No, it was the good ol' fashion super bloody, Why Don't You Just Die! from Russia, subtitled only. From director Kirill Sokolov comes a tale as old as time. Girlfriend asks boyfriend to kill her daddy. Things go wrong. Very, very wrong. And you buckle up your seat to see the ensuing violence occur. And it occurs on a wonderful level of you screaming, "Uh-oh," and "No, not his leg!" As a violent as it is, it is still a comedy, because y'know, it's Russia, there's not a lot of subtlety or dry humor from there.
We have a fight between the two stars, Vitaliy Khaev playing Andrei, bald, thicc man, who looks like he was built by the Mafia to be its Frankenstein thug, playing a terrible Dad. Then you have boyfriend, Aleksandr Kuznetsov,
playing Matvey, who can really take a beating better than he looks. And you have them in the wrestling ring of a tacky Russian apartment, where anything goes.
It's not only a Jerry Springer worthy fight with furniture and power tools.We have a little backtracking vignette on how everyone gets connected, so there's some slow down. Never that much, before were back to something bad happening. And some lovely high tension at the start as to when the fighting will begin.
A movie for you to enjoy as blood stains the walls. You're with Matvey when he gets hurt and you feel it. Just like in our recent review of Swallow. When you see the woman in it swallow inanimate objects like a pin or marble you feel it going down your throat too. When a film can connect you on that level, it has you in a choke hold, much like how Andrei has Matvey later in the film.
There's definitely some themes in here with the director
having a hard-on for green and red, be it in wallpaper, school uniforms
or just the lighting and of course, with all the blood.
Then you have music set to violence that's so much a homage to Quentin Tarantino, that I would want to check scene by scene comparisons. I doubt there's anything directly stolen...it comes very close though.
And on music selection, what a wonderful song ,"F&*k You" from The Hatters 2017 album Forever Young Forever Drunk.
I don't want to give you much on the plot as that's part of the fun with more than few criminal antics.
Who couldn't love the violence? Why Don't You Just Die! was a joy to see, scream at and follow every bit of grim going-on. It's a wild movie ride with just the right amount of gore and heart. An no, no one's heart gets ripped out...maybe emotionally.

She's Allergic to Cats
This hurt, because of the high hopes I put on it from hearing about it for a few years on the festival circuit. I see now why it hadn't been picked up wile coming out in 2016. I think, when it premiered, the guy behind it gave the audience collectible cards from the movie, which showed the director has a sense of humor. I guess he does and it might be that this is a prank of some kind that this was allowed to be released.
This is a short film that got green-lit to go on way too long. It's independent, so, I'm sure it was never really green-lit. I'd say for the crowd who like to brag on seeing weird movies take a look, but everyone else it's like getting a shoulder pain. Not enough to knock you out for the day, just something annoying you've got to get through. It has but one redeeming silly oddity where the main character wants to recreate the movie Carrie with a cast of actual cats. The visuals alone would have made for trending Twitter posts. Other than the Carrie cat cast concept, it's all surreal, Tim & Eric humor. But sadder then Tim & Eric humor.
A friend recently went for Covid-19 testing and reminded me for some reason past all the game creating software on Steam is WillMaker. Yes, the program you use to get free when you got AOL, because they knew only the elderly were still buying it, is available on the same service I use to play Metal Slug.
It's one of the strangest programs to be available on Steam. It's odd that Quicken has even put it on the market there as I question "Who the Hell is buying it next to Doom Eternal?"
As, always the main reason I bring it up is that it be funny to gift a friend that while they're feeling sick or send to someone as a gift you just don't like. Getting Willmaker as a gift would hurt any gamer emotionally.
Sadly, even during the holiday sale this program is quite pricey. But, if you really hate someone or are just a d$*k, you could gift them Willmaker on Steam. Creepy.
-Was it weird there was no big event plan for Final Fantasy 7 Remake in LA. Square Enix usually does something. We get that the coranavirus shut-in is taking place, but even before that there was no plan for a special event.
-Sweet Bod, creepy little ditty with an anime maid.
You can read the full Akira manga for free, except everyone in it is from The Simpsons. Bartkira is a super strange art project with hundreds of artists from all over the world doing a few pages of the Akira manga. So, there might be a lot of repeat of characters and some bad visual continuity and that makes it even stranger read. Can't wait to see how many times Krusty the Clown will be killed.
It's very noticeable that storyboard artist Ian Mutchler has been playing the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The following are some funny little doodles based on the game. Look forward to Mr. Mutchler's work on HBO MAX's Jellystone.
We're going over one of our favorite artists, Kiana Mai, recent work, who loves to ship Ash's Mom and Jessie as a couple. Ms. Mai is a story artist over at Disney TV Animation, so, you've probably seen her work on a number of cartoons.
Yeah, we know everyone thinks it should be Prof. Oak, but it's not happening. What is happening is the Pokémon cartoon's Ash Ketchum's Mom and Jessie from Team Rocket our together and in for some crazy family antics. We have no idea why, but it works so well as a sitcom, who cares how it happened. It's just instantly relatable to fans of the cartoon, kind of like Maré Odomo's wonderfully touching Letters to an Absent Father, where Ash's writes to his deadbeat Dad. We even interviewed him about it ages ago. But Maré hasn't done any new Pokémon comics in a while...get back to work you lazy cartoonist. On the other hand it left a void for something even more touching to come into play, this funny shipping.

This is possibly the oddest duck of all Filipino
movies, and there have been some real mind-bogglers. This one stars
lovely Asian-American Nancy Kwan as a transplant doctor who does a brisk
business grafting the sex organs of healthy young male athletes onto
the bodies of over-the-hill millionaires. She's aided by a lightly clad
army of sexy kung-fu amazons and Sid Haig as an effeminate penis
salesman. Do I seriously need to keep typing? (Lars Nilsen, Weird
