Cursed Films comes out in April on Shudder. The series features some of the most talked about supposedly cursed films in the biz including John Landis' fatal The Twilight Zone movie where two child actors were killed by a helicopter accident and set a president for the industry where the AD would be blamed for an on site deaths. Then paperwork and lawyers stopped anyone from anyone being sued or really losing the blame.
You also have the following as part of the docu-series: The Exorcist, The Omen, The Crow and Poltergeist.
We've been waiting on Scare Package for months now. This new anthology horror film has six directors trying to scare the bejeezus out of us! They looked bloody and silly! Suppose to be out this Summer.
And we come to the end. The end being about a serial killer who eats children via his butt. We give you Butt Boy. Now exact date for release, but as it builds, we tells you when it finally comes out. Ahahahaha.
Update: Butt Bou in theaters April 3 on streamin April 14

Looks like Curry House mattered to a lot of people...including us. So, why not visit and share your memories at the Memorial Service this Saturday? A professional cosplayer named Kitty Kaboom has set up a memorial service for the one in Little Tokyo. She suggests coming to share memories and cosplay.

"Well if you were like me today you found out that Curry House overnight just completely up and left us all . Without any type of warning or even last opening date we were left with an abrupt and suddenly shocking goodbye . This coming up weekend I will be at the store front of the little Tokyo Curry House location to leave candles, flowers and a large memorial board that you can write on saying your goodbyes to our beloved curry house. The place we use to celebrate after every so cal con. Many memories and birthdays we had. Awww heck, we even had an old school Cosplayer gathering back in 2002 over there called J con lol. Come meet with friends take your last selfies, EVEN COME IN COSPLAY. Let’s all bid farewell to our loved curry house."
See the digital songstress on stage and screen as she returns to LA to share music only a computer generated Japanese idol can. With any concert she'll be joined by her other digital friends and show off with costume changes on the fly as it's easy for her, because you know that's just some DLC they put in.

The Japanese Idol returns to LA! Hear her over the top style and see her look that will no doubt mesmerize at Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's live performance. And even better it's not in the awful Microsoft Theater. (writer spits)
-Heads up, because this always manages to sell out,
Aniplex of America is ecstatic to present the North American premiere

acclaimed
Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] trilogy. The premiere will

-Someone noticed the homages in Colossal from Evangelion
If you're still reeling from Kobe's Memorial Service that was held Monday...uh, things...aren't getting that better.
- Woodland Hills' long time place to get electronics and computer parts with the theme of Alice in Wonderland is really closed. No longer part of the slow painful death it was having like all the other stores, Fry's Woodland Hills is dead. The property is gonna be turned into apartments/hotels/office space with little anything of significance near it, but the Topanga Canyon Mall. Woodland Hills has lost a bit more of it's charm. This sucks.
The other Fry's probably won't be around much longer as their property is worth too much. Fry's Anaheim closes on March 2nd. No word on Burbank's 1950's sci-fi movie store. But all of them had one slow death. Would don't recommend going in them, it's too sad to see them so empty.
-Now for some more bad news. Curry House is closed. And, no we don't just mean the one in Little Tokyo all of them in the US. It what people are calling the #Brown Wedding (curry color + Game of Thrones Red Wedding) or #curry house massacre, all locations have closed with no warning. Even the staff wasn't aware.
LA Times did some digging and found the current owners have a pretty bad legal battle pending due to problems with their expense accounts as to a possible reason why all stores might have shuttered.
-How does over 700 pinball machines and 550 arcade games all on free play with admission sound to you? Now your asking for admission and we're getting to it! Arcade Expo 6.0 is taking place an hour 30 or less from LA.

Out near the dinosaurs you've seen in Pee Wee's Big Adventure or The Wizard also lies the Museum of Pinball and for a 6 year in a row they're throwing Arcade Expo. A place where you can just enjoy tons of old school arcade machines and I'd assume countless pinball machines from now and the past.
Also going for it:
-Starcade, play arcade machines and pinball machines underneath the stars at night
-Swap Meet / Flea Market
-Arcade Tournaments
-Silent Auction
-Barcade still blows when it comes to the food.

Happy Hours Daily 12pm to 7pm Just look for the Mexican food restaurant near Galco's Free entry
Why can't they serve decent food in dis joint? It has a great selection of arcade games, not so-priced great booze, but the food, blech. Don't waste your money, you've got so many good places to get something nearby. I mean Galco's Soda Pop Stop is walking distance.
And for whatever reason they still thinks it's cool to keep the Mexican Restaurant sign up. We'll miss you el Arco iris Mexican Food. We'll miss you.
-The beloved Royce's Arcade is coming back from basically being dead with a new
location in the Westfield Topanga Mall. Their social media says June
1st, but it might be later this Summer knowing how bad construction and permits are to get in LA.
-And finally, Neon Retro Arcade Northridge got robbed, but they're taking it in good spirits. Check out this real footage of the robbery set to Super Mario sounds that they posted on their official Instagram.

Concurrently on view in the Thinkspace project room is “Horizon Light”,
featuring new works from the duo Giorgiko. The new series of paintings
depicts the childlike characters of the Giorgiko universe caught in the
twilight moments between light and darkness.
Thinkspace is pleased to present new works by American, Berlin-based, artist James Bullough in “Parallel Truths”. A technically accomplished painter who
creates with a staggering degree of detail, Bullough begins with
figurative imagery, disjointing and levitating its fragmented parts
impressionistically to build dynamic surfaces that read with startling effective resonance.

Mamma mia, we gotta new pizza arcade bar in town! The pizza is relatively cheap and the arcade portion has some classics, so that everybody will like at least one game. And who doesn't miss the neon?
Word from the reviews is it's NY Style pizza and that the place could have a little bit more room when it gets busy. So, we suggest giving it a shot or 50 cents when in the area.
Another nice coincidence is it's right next to Adults Only.

What looks like an ancient and defunct adult video shop is really the entrance to a classy bar. Adults Only casts a facade in front with a shady looking video store, but most looked that way when they weren't Blockbusters. Once you're past the false front you'll be in for a treat with a great looking bar to chill in with you and your friends.

Superman: Red Son is a fun and fascinating take on the story of Superman if he landed in the Soviet Union as a baby. In comic book circles it's called an Elseworlds tale and it shows a more grim world for the man of steel and other DC super heroes. And in the hands of Sam Liu it's gonna be forgettable trash. Like most DC animated movies.
Superman: Red Son is coming out Feb 25 for digital. And we don't look forward to it, because of the previous DC Animated films,.
DC Animated Movies use plots from some cherished comic book stories and then cram with the same usual junk to be edgy.
This junk includes:
-Off-screen rape
-Murder
-Blood
-Glass breaking
-Sexy time for no reason
-Cursing
You see, since animators aren't allowed to do these things in a regular cartoon on television they over compensate. You can have those things we mentioned if it adds or is part of the story your telling, but these are added out of blue balls for the animators not being able to essentially draw fan fiction on their favorite characters.
AT&T, please save the company some money and kill of these awful films that make people hate DC's brand.
-Moviepass might be dead, but that's not stopping Alamo Drafthouse. People in LA and other cities with Drafthouse theaters can pay a monthly subscription to see a movie a day. It's called the Alamo Season Pass and LA's will cost you $29.99 a month. But check out the link above that goes over all sub-charges for 3D and what not. Still, might be a good deal if you see two movies a month there.
-The undying AMC Promenade 16 in Woodland Hills will say open until 2021. Then it moves over to the Westfield Topanga. In 2021, a new section called " The District will open there and it'll be where the former Sears was. Oh, and it'll only be a 12 screen theater at that point. So, will it ever really be dead or just born again? So, don't worry you can keep visiting the movie theater in a dead mall until it opens just a few blocks away.
via What Now V2. Escape From Hell, a WWII escape film is coming out next year...because someone wants attention. It comes out in vertical format and will be shot on that way on purpose. It wishes for release in theaters and not directly on the phone. It sounds like a stunt to get attention. We're sure they'll be a ton of puff pieces on it when it comes out, but sounds like a pretty awful idea. Sadly, with money behind it.
-First up, LA AX can finally serve liquor, specifically beer and wine. They've been waiting since they opened. Oh, they now feature mobile axe-throwing?
-There's a new Axe Throwing place in town, Mo’s House of Axe in Koreatown 611 S. Western Avenue. LA Eater has more info on it. They have a full bar. So, if you want to drink and throw axes you have more than one place to go. And they have a sizable menu of food. Tough competition.
You have until March to experience The Walking Dead attraction at Universal Studios. On March 5th it finally dies for real. It isn't actually making room related to Super Nintendo Land, it looks like room is needed for a new ride and area for The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash ride, which is not related to Nintendo, so we care less.
Anyone else notice The Broad in the trailer for Season 3 of Westworld? We're kind of glad decades into the future they didn't redesign it...like most art museums in LA.
