Well, Sonic Sucks
Well, the trailer for Sonic tells us the movie will not be watchable. It ruins the ending with Robotnik/Eggman played by Jim Carrey being trapped in Sonic's home dimension, where he"ll finally have his iconic look. Maybe a buffet will be nearby so he can get fat too?
To break down why the movie is gonna be so bad, not just from the terrible look, we can look at whose making it. It's directed by Jeff Fowler, whose only credit as director is a CGI film called Gopher Broke back in 2004, echh.
Then the screenplay is from three dudes who also don't have a good history. The man who wrote The Cloverfield Paradox, the bad one on Netflix, Oren Uziel is one of the trio. The two others are Josh Miller and Patrick Casey who last wrote for 12 Deadly Days and Golan the Insatiable. That means their latest work was in 2016. And though we had some fun with 12 Deadly Days, a YouTube exclusive, we think, it was not something that really showed the chops for an iconic video game character.
Will Detective Pikachu be better? Maybe, the trailer makes it a least look better, but its director is a guy named Rob Letterman, who has done nothing we would recommend.

Movie Hype: Godzilla: King of the Monsters, One Cut of the Dead Here
Godzilla: King of the Monsters has released its final trailer or it's at least dubbed that. We didn't know the studio made it clear if any other trailers were made, someone would get in trouble. Yes, were comment on the term final trailer, because easily enough the studio could just release another trailer. This one does show that Godzilla is facing off against a lot of other kaiju, so looking forward to it as our top Spring/Summer move as Endgame is out so early.
-Shudder, the online horror streaming service, is getting One Cut of the Dead as an exclusive, no date when it'll come out, but you can always try out a free week. We really liked this indie zombie comedy movie from Japan. The sell point on it that everyone keeps mention is that it was made on the cheap and made so much money back. The real point is that for any fan of making movies, horror and Japanese culture all tie into the film. Here's our review from the only showing it had in LA.

Small Dog Escalator Safety Signs Are Common Here
Do we wish we did this post on April Fool's Day? Yes, but truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. Here in LA we have small signs warning people to just not even attempt bringing their tiny dogs onto escalators. It's something so LA, that yes, it should be on a shirt. It's also stupid. So, stupid that we really wonder why they need the signs, but it's LA.
At the same time, whose the artist and where are these signs bought? And a number of questions.
One being, how often do tiny dogs get stuck in escalators? The last incident in LA; we found on a simple search was February 2018 at LAX.
Are people dumb who let their dogs ride on escalators, yes. That's why we have signs for it here.
And than the those writing this sighed.
As of writing this we've seen these on escalators at the Century City Mall and at The Grove. But they're in general, spotted at many malls in the LA area.

Adventure Time Completed: Finn, Jake & Marceline Say Goodbye
John DiMaggio, Olivia Olson and Jeremy Shada |
During the signing session, John DiMaggio burst out to praise everyone's art work that they brought in to be signed. He was impressed by how many fans had made something for him to see. He gave hugs to fans who asked for them and was impressed by a man's Jake tattoo that wrapped around his arm.
Many fans came out not only to get the new Adventure Time: The Complete Series DVD box set and soundtrack box set due out in the next few weeks, but to see the the cast one more time. And they were insanely happy, with many moments of sheer joy as they asked question after question of the cast. And of course, the cast had to sing songs.
Making bacon pancakes was sung with the crowd and Jake/John was so happy to see someone take out a frying pan with bacon prop, swinging along with the song. Finn/Jeremy sang the Buff Baby song and Marceline/Olivia sang Everything Stays twice. Once alone and once with a fan, a young girl who cried tears of joy after getting to sing along.
On sale were special prints by Matthew Houston, you can snag them on the Nucleus site.
And projected on a wall was a special feature both in the box set and online now, a Come Along With Me music video made with the The Art of Elysium organization. Each frame was colored by kid and teen fans, making a very weird video to look at.
All of it was in the background as fans got to ask the cast questions. "You know, I haven't watched the last episode yet, "John told the crowd when asked about his most sincere emotional moment on the show. He could only say how much he cried when he went in for his last recording session for the show and how much Jake the Dog meant to him.
Jeremy Shada said he's working on his own animated projected with his brother and something else, but couldn't give and details. He told the audience his favorite episode was Trouble in Lumpy Space because John and he just got to talk like Lumpy Space Princess as they did again in front of the crowd. And he shared his least favorite moment from the show, which was when the evil deer stood on it's hind legs like a man and revealed he had tiny hands instead of hooves in the episode No One Can Hear You.
When asked what was Jake's favorite child of his litter, John Di Maggio chose Kim Kil Whan. He also shared that the Banana Guards, who he voices, are just a take on creator of Adventure Time Pen Ward voice and style of talking.
The night ended with free Adventure Time goodies being thrownout to the crowd and the trio thanking everyone for coming out.
