Thinkspace is pleased to present new works by Portland-based artist Stephanie Buer in Wild Abandon.
Known for her poignant, photorealistic paintings in oil, and charcoal
works on paper, Buer captures the abandoned recesses of the city,
finding unexpected richness in its desolation and quietude in its abrupt
vacancies.
On view in the Thinkspace project room are new works by Canadian, New York-based artist Daniel Bilodeau in State of the Art.
Bilodeau’s paintings explore the symbolic fracture and disarticulation
of the individual through the literal reorganization of the figurative
subject.

For its 36th anniversary, Kotohajime, JACCC’s signature New Year celebration, will welcome 2019 and celebrate the Year of the Boar. Curated by Master Artist in Residence, Hirokazu Kosaka, Kotohajime features stunning performances and live music, including ritual shooting of the arrow, breaking the sake barrel, and traditional and contemporary dance and performances.
2019 artists include special guests Arugakki (Taiko group), Tetsuya Nakamura (Harmonica player), Ken Aiso (Violinist), and Matsumae Kai (Traditional Folk musicians). The ritual shooting of the arrow—a purification ceremony – will be performed by IKKYU of the Los Angeles Kyudo Archery Group.

Today, former Weekly writers and editors have come up with their own
vision for a print magazine that recaptures the rebellious spirit of the
