On a quest to find burger in a can, a real item we saw someone eat on YouTube, we ventured to The Surplus Store. It did have MREs, Meals Ready to Eat, just not a disgusting can of burger. What the place did have was a huge selection of camping and military gear. Perfect for survivalists, people making movies needing props and clothes and people who need creative ways to sit in a line for an event. They had many types of portable chairs.
The only thing lacking was good customer service. The staff, last Sunday, was tired and just not up to the level of caring one expects when trying to look at knives. We found ourselves not liking their low energy and lack of communication. They didn't seem like they wanted to be there.
The store itself houses a huge amount of products with two big sections, one devoted to backpacks the other shoes. Past that you"ll get lost in all the goodies you can get for your production or for camping. They have old army memorabilia. People love used ammunition canisters. There's a wide selection of gas masks to scare friends into asking, "What's going on ?" You"ll find a flashlight you might want or something to hold an item in your house that beats going to IKEA.
Stop by for a glance and don't try starting conversations with the staff.
