Don't forget that Little Tokyo's Nisei Week starts this weekend. Really, lasting more than seven days is the 78th Nisei Week, bringing a big summer celebration with a host of activities downtown. That means outdoor booths, food, music, games and more.
The biggest event is of course the Grand Parade taking over Little Tokyo this Sunday, Aug 12, at 4pm and lasting hours. The streets are filled with parade-goers featuring local politicians, clubs and groups from downtown. It a fun sight to see.
As it"ll be warm we say bring fold-able lawn chairs and something to block the sun with plenty of ice cold drinks.
For anime fans, it's the closes you"ll get to experience a summer or school festival without going to Japan. And people will come in yukatas and cosplay.
This is only the first weekend, you can check it out again on the 18th and 19th, but you'll miss the parade.
