Here’s the new body scan technology that @metrolosangeles has purchased, designed to detect suicide vests and other wearable explosives. Metro LA says they're getting into body scanners. It looks cool, but it may slow down the speed of getting on the Metro for the average patron. The Metro says they might use it with a way that tracks people who are seen as potential risks once the scanner identifies a threat. It's still in the early stages with scant on details on where and how the body scanners will be specifically used.
Gizmodo has some more on it.
