It's gonna cost you about $60 for a day with some annoying extra fees for "processing" and to mail your badge to you. Check the days and prices here. Hopefully, with badge in hand, time will be saved as you can just enter the con past a bag check. As always Saturday is your best choice as it's usually the biggest day with the most events, but if you want a relaxed version, Thursday & Friday may be a better choice as people with regular jobs won't be able to make it.
On to some really weird, but fun news, mostly because the anime is currently showing in America. Something called JOJO's Bizarre Escape: The Hotel at Anime Expo will be going on this year. Based on the utterly crazy anime currently on Toonami about fist fights that take place with psychic powers and a vampire who lives in Egypt comes an escape game.
Now it's from SCRAP Entertainment, which has not impressed me greatly in the past, it even did an AX maybe a year ago with the Trunks future saga from Dragon Ball Super going on, which was a bit weird since it didn't air in America yet. Also, they really like figuring out things on work sheets. ...It seemed like more problem solving on paper then IRL (in real life).
But, hey, they have my attention with it taking place in a hotel, which JoJo and his friends frequent on their trip to Dio in the anime and sort of reminds me of the ending arc of the anime when they enter Dio's maze-like mansion. Also, it didn't hurt that exclusive merch will be there for those only trying the game.
Here's the official synopsis of the escape:
Based on author Hirohiko Araki’s groundbreaking Shonen Jump manga series, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE follows the multigenerational tale of the heroic Joestar family and their never-ending battle against evil! In JOJO’S BIZARRE ESCAPE: THE HOTEL, fans will play the role of one of the five people (and one dog) on protagonist Jotaro’s team, travelling to defeat their arch nemesis, DIO. Trapped in a labyrinthine hotel, players must examine clues and solve a gauntlet of puzzles by utilizing their special abilities in order to defeat the mastermind! The spotlight of this event will be the brand new original character developed exclusively for this game, officially approved by Hirohiko Araki himself. Fans will also have a chance to get their hands on exclusive merchandise only available to individuals attending the event.
Tickets go on sale May 4 at 6pm, but you do have to have an AX badge to play too. It'll be going on every day of the con, even the preview night.
That's all for now, I'm sure more news about AX will be coming out soon, so stay informed through us or some sort of screaming app on your phone that won't let you lower the volume....maybe, just us.
