Hunt for donuts all over LA! dineL.A. Donut Trek has you on a quest this June to get ten special edition donuts at some of LA's most well known donut shops. Though, you ain't getting a t-shirt or some sort of medal-we think you should-you will be getting the satisfaction of posting all the special donuts you get on Instagram.
Here's a list of the special donuts- the Not So Mini Gold Donut looks tasty- and their donut shops. There's ten in all to try and get and it last until the end of June.
Final Fantasy XIV Symphonic Concert will be in town at The Dolby Theater in Hollywood June 15–16th. A real orchestra with visuals from the online game will make Hollywood a little more gamer friendly. The 16th's concert will have it's own Hollywood Red Carpet Cosplay Walk event. Anyone who registers and has tickets to the concert for the 16th can wear cosplay down the red carpet and stop to have their pictures taken. Tickets start at $59.
FLCL's The Pillows will be in town July 19th at The Regent. The same band whose done the music for the now three season anime series, Fooly Cooly will be sharing their noise for one night in LA.

The Noise had us running faster than any zombie in it's special Night of the Living Dead screening-using the recently released Criterion version- to get to the theater before it started. Elvis Mitchell of KCRW's The Treatment hosted the event with the live bandThe Paranoyds sticking around for the entire show providing a creepy soundtrack for all the undead.
Night of the Living Dead from the now deceased George Romero was the start of all we know to be zombies, without it all zombie media would be...dead. In this tale we have to deal with different survivors coming together in a farm house as the dead start walking the earth, eating the flesh of the living. Problems occur inside the house with just the survivors and though George Romero denies trying to make the film about race it does bust through as the lead, Duane Jones who plays Ben is and African American and happens to be the first black lead in a movie. And it came out only in 1968. Tensions rise not only because of the zombies trying to get in, but whose in control in the house.
As the crowd and us watched there were some laughable moments, like the flat-out, not okay punch the other lead, Judith O'Dea who plays Barbara as is in the "They're coming to get you Barbara!,' Barbara, gets from Ben. There's some terrible acting to laugh at too. For a major part of it at least for it's time, it is scary as the world around you suddenly has undead murderers who want to eat you. And some still haunting and quite gruesome visuals. The Paranoyds provided a powerfully haunting soundtrack of people fighting or running away from the undead. The creepy rock music added to the tension if our survivors would make it. See the movie for yourself to find out if they did. Afterward we were given free posters and a reception outside by the Hollywood Foreign Press to talk about what frightens us and if the movie holds up today...it does.
When you need a coffin lickety split or a human head to scare some half-wits then head to Burbank just past Fry's... and head to Dapper Cadaver, some dead bodies are inside.
Listen, not my best jingle, but Dapper gives that feeling of a shop you can wander into and pick some lovely props to scare the sh*t out of friends or make your movie scary as heck. And that's the primary reason Dapper Cadaver exists, it's a horror prop house, they're making monsters inside.
On a dark and gloomy Thursday afternoon we wandered in. It had been so long since last we visited Dapper we didn't notice that Dapper was in a new location, not that far from it's last, still hugging Burbank, still more in the office and industrial area right past the train tracks.
What may look like a doctor's office up front is really a prop house that anyone can enter during business hours to check out all sorts of horror props. They've got coffins, skulls and body parts in jars all waiting for you to pick out the pieces you need.
It doesn't look like a super market, though the work shop in back looks like a slaughter house for cannibals, it's mostly a place to pick up props for purchase or rent for movies. But, this is LA, so you could rent or buy props for a party or just to have some really "interesting" decor.
We're kind of struck by the amazing amount of creepy collectibles we found inside at this 13 year operation that has moved around LA over the years. Who doesn't want to rent a dinosaur skull for some big get together? Right?
For first timers, don't be worried about coming if you're going during open hours. There's parking across the street right near the chain link fence overlooking the train track. Then you've go to ring the door bell and they should let you in. At first look the place doesn't look that friendly for visitors, but the staff showed us around and was helpful with all our questions.
So, if you're planning Halloween way early or want props made for a horror movie you might want to stop by.
One of our favorite shows from Cartoon Network will finally finish it's run this Summer. This June, Clarence will show its final episodes. The cartoon about the over imaginative kid in Abderdale will finally come to a close after the last new episode aired last year, November 2017.
The new episodes start June 10th and you don't want to miss'em, because Clarence isn't coming back. Cartoon buffs, check out a nod to Home Movies in a future episode.
It's very odd as why Cartoon Network has waited this long to air Clarence final episodes on air as the staff of the show has written on various social media that they were done since last year.
Also, we didn't even know it didn't finish it's run on television, but Justice League Action will be airing new episodes on Cartoon Network too starting June 1st.
We have no idea how CN functions as it has these shows linger off the air for so long. Weird.
