Wasteland Weekend is a 5-day post-apocalyptic party in the heart of the California desert wastelands.
Costumes are required and you must be at least 18 years old at the time of the event to attend.
Wasteland Weekend provides camping space, a 360-degree post-apocalyptic environment, entertainment and activities, vendors, and basic facilities.

Where to even start with the selection, it's not Fantastic Fest, but damn, it might be my favorite film festival LA has. You're a close second SpectreFest, but you in trouble with The Cinefamily being out right now.

They're showing some amazing horror cult classics like Slumber Party Massacre 1 & 2 with guests in person. Hellraiser has an anniversary screening and Suspiria, a horror gem I keep hearing about on the Shock Waves podcast that's 40 years old and is being remade for this year, weird.

There's so many free screenings too. I'm not sure why, but lucky if you can make it, you got to go in person to grab a seat for those.

Missing the Twilight Concert Series? Well, the Santa Monica Pier today announced the return of Front Porch Cinema, the consummate Southern California free movie series under the stars and over the Ocean every Friday night this fall from Sept. 29-Oct. 27. The Pier will be transformed into a cozy and perfect setting for a night of movies, scrumptious food, themed drinks in the cinema lounge, and activities for the kiddos, Mom, Dad, first dates, the cool kids, and all. The audience can unwind on old-timey lawn chairs, comfy blankets, and watch on a giant screen with the highest quality HD-projection and line-array sound provided by LA's premier outdoor movie producers, EatISeeIHear.
