Come September we have our first ever Los Angeles Anime Film Festival. Taking place Sept. 15-17, 2017. From Azoland Pictures, distributors of Japanese anime for the West we're getting some anime on the big screen. Details are still up in the air as the location still hasn't been revealed, but a few of the films have been announced including “Kiki’s Delivery Service” ,“Miss Hokusai” ,“009 RE:CYBORG” (3D) and “Innocence” (35mm print) for now.
We hope to hear about some recently released titles from Japan and some fun events to go with the festival. Simply showing anime isn't enough, it's always good to try and make your festival a spectacle or an event, to do something that really thrills fans. So we're unsure with all the titles being at least two years old, and in LA's film network, not that hard to see. Aero and the Egyptian show Ghibli films every year and so does Landmark.
