The indie is on this week as IndieCade returns for another year off of-the-wall games. Some video games, some computer games, some board games and big social games are going to crack open out heads with strange new ideas. It's a big change this year. Don't head to Culver City, they've moved on to USC this year, more specifically the Cinema and media area. At least will have air condtioning and no big games are planned this weekend, so parking should be reasonable, just not the prices for parking.

Independent documentarian Zhao Liang presents a stunning vision of the
natural and human disaster unfolding across China as strip mines and
iron works transform a landscape and a people into a living version of
Dante’s Hell. Indeed, Zhao directly references the Divine Comedy in the film’s poetic structure and its mythological meditation on the environmental devastation it captures.

A holistic detective who doesn’t really detect . . . or find clues . . . or has never really solved a case. OK, so he’s a crazy person who’s insinuated himself into the life of a man who literally has absolutely nothing left to lose. Todd Brotzman (Elijah Wood) is having perhaps the worst day of his life—his drug-dealing landlord has trashed his car, and he’s discovered the body of a murdered millionaire in the penthouse of the hotel where he works as a bellhop. All of this leads to a peculiar chain of events that makes him a suspect . . . and gets him sacked from his job. Enter Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett), the fast-talking, eccentric detective hired to investigate the case.
