The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM) will
open its new outdoor Butterfly Pavilion exhibit to the public on September 16
for the 2016 season. Museum entomologists have stocked the new pavilion with
more than 25 North American butterfly species—monarchs, queens, malachites and
various longwings and swallowtails, among others—which will flutter among
flowering plants inside the enclosed habitat.
