Nisei Week's Grand Parade made its way through Little Tokyo for the 76th year in a row. Music blasted as dancers sprang loose. The Nebuta (warrior) float pitched back and forth in front of the crowds gathered along 1st and 2nd street. Cosplayers marched to J-Pop music and the banner for the upcoming Akibafest, a new anime convention come October in Little Tokyo was held with gleaming Otaku pride.
Men, women, young and old marched the parade route waving to the crowds who waived back at the annual event that inspired many on the Japanese community in LA.
Don't forget there's a whole other weekend with events and festivities coming up Aug 20-21 to conclude Nisei week. Gyoza eating contests and more.
