If you ever had to switch lines from Metro's North Hollywood Red to Orange line or vice versa you know of the long terrible waits and many problems of crossing the busy street of Lanksershim Blvd to get to your destination. Those are over today with the opening of the underground tunnel between the two. Metro somehow spent less, $22 million on the tunnel, while the Universal walking bridge cost $29 million. In either case, even with the big price tags the safety and ease for those getting just across the street is worth it.
