Carlos Vermut tweaks the idea of the Japanese magical girl to a sick and twisted idea too gross for any young manga reader. What we get is a wild tale of love, blackmail and a world too dirty to discuss.
The movie is set around three characters in an unnerving theme of love. An unemployed father with a daughter dying seeks the one thing that he thinks will make her happy, a costly dress from the girl's favorite anime "Magical Girl Yukiko." A woman whose loyalty to her husband that may be based on her own need for sanity. And a teacher trying to get past his failures.
They all connect for a bitter thriller with just the slightest connect to Japanese culture.
