Named after an indigenous Indian tribe that didn't get a casino is Tongva Park, a small 6-acre park that was finished in 2013 and is a short walk from the Santa Monica Pier. The park features two overlooks to see foot traffic and some glimpses of the sky. as well as a variety of flowers. Of course there's a playground, though it looks like it may have been made for hipster children instead of just being fun.
