Taking place the day after Halloween and not too far from Dia se los Muertos, The Day of the Dead Festival on Olvera Street, we have Little Tokyo's First Annual Japan Fair. Japan Fair was created to to promote the Japanese and Japanese American culture to SoCal, funny as it's very much ingrained into the mind of Southern Californians already.
The first year plan is to fill the JACCC Plaza with vendors, food and amusement. This has been done before on Nisei Week and other events at the plaza. We'll have to see what vendors get added and what final plans are as the list of vendors and info comes in. Imported food and drinks are highlighted. Those lovers of taiko, you will have performances with traditional Japanese dancing, koto musicians, and a children’s choirs among promised other stage shows.
Until we get more facts, we'll see how the event comes together, it's just starting out, but a weekend day in Little Tokyo always has some fun in it.
