Los Angeles, CA (April 28th, 2014) – Hello Drama PR & Ninja Crate in Association with media partner JPy Magazine and Studio KuNu present Kawaiiland, a music, fashion, art event taking place on May 10th at Los Globos. Los Globos is located at 3040 W Sunset Blvd in the heart of the Silverlake music and arts scene. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The event is 21 and over. The event will be hosted by Instagram style star Luna Lovebad, and featuring the works of celebrity pop artist PLASTICGOD. All girl Asian American pop/rock sensations Nylon Pink will headline the event. Uber will be on site providing a $50 promo code to all Kawaiiland attendees.
Kawaiiland is the ultimate Kawaii experience. Kawaii translates to cute in Japanese, and houses its own worldwide subculture. Kawaiiland seeks to promote and share the love for all things Harajuku by featuring the best of our local artists, fashion designers, makeup and hairstylists, musicians, photographers and more! Our attendees will also be able to participate in workshops and a photobooth. Featured throughout the event are kawaii-themed photoshoots, food, vendors, panels, and celebrity appearances from style and instagram stars in the Kawaii community.
The year’s event features a wide range of talent including runway shows featuring Miss Alphabet, whose designs are self described as “Straight outta Barbie’s closet”. Streetwear designer YNA Liel, and super kawaii designer Pretty Star Clothing will also be showing their collections.
Featured Kawaii vendors include Spooky Boutique, plush toy designer Enky Skulls, hair bows by Rebowlution, accessories by Geeky Glamorous, 8-bit accessories designer Nerdy Bit, clay sculpture designer ClayQuarry, stationary brand Sachi & Marc, photographer J. Corsentino will be featuring his graphic novel Time of the Faeries, accessories designer So Kute Creations, nail art designer The Finder Things, accessories and soap maker Rosenlee Dhu, and the cute characters of DoooDolls.
Visual artists, photographers, and makeup artists include Audrey Bagley, Stephanie Takemoto, Jade Alexandria, Drea Ruiz, Lawrence Raymond, Syd Hanson, Edward Cao, Symone Vannon, Shelby and the Blooms, Hobbeess, Jen Kiddo Art, Valentina Zapata, Zoe Stanley Arts, Gustavo Ramirez, Tatjana Bluchel, and Makeup by Andi.
Special appearances by Instagram stars Jessi Jae Joplin & The Fabulous Stains, Dustbunny, Flamcis, and Ellen Choi.
Nylon Pink is: lead vocalist Rayko, bassist Kit.E.Katt, lead guitarist Kiki Wongo and drummer Jamie Scoles. They have been featured in editorial spreads for FHM Asia and Europe, have toured nationally and internationally including Shanghai for Havaianas, a Hard Rock Cafe tour of Malaysia and Macau, as well as Japan. The girls are also designers of Hello Drama Jewelry, which has been featured in many fashion publications and worn by Kat Von D, KISS, The Donnas, and the Pussycat Dolls. The girls have over 100K likes on Facebook, as well as over 1M views on their official Youtube, and have their own style blog.
