The popular yearly event where cyclists could ride in the streets of LA has been cancelled due to a lack of permits. Taking advantage of the street closures for the LA Marathon happening later in the day the 4am three-hour-frenzy gave cyclists access to LA's streets without much hassle. The streets early Sunday morning, March 9th could have been filled with hundreds of cyclists.
The Marathon Crash Race would have marked it's fifth year in operation if not for getting certain permits this year. In the past, permits weren't asked by the city, this year however the city has changed it's tune asking for permits to which the group behind the event Wolfpack Hustle could not complete in time even asking for the process to be expedited.
The Marathon Crash Race caused services like the LAPD to take extra time to follow racers and make sure they were safe from traffic.
Some cyclists vow to race anyway, permit or no permit, which might get them heavily fined, endanger their own lives or get the organizing group Wolfpack Hustle into legal trouble.
