If I knew I'd be writing about Pokemon so much this week I would have done a Pokemon Hype section.
In a "you can't look away" ; almost hypnotic sight has been unfolding on Twitch, the game streaming service. Twitch users are able to play a game of Pokemon, the original Red/Blue version, together through written chat, prompting their combined efforts to make their Pokemon trainer spasm and go crazy through the Kanto region. In some sort of amazing fashion the trainer in this game has actually beaten two Gym Leaders in "Twitch Plays Pokemon" so far.
You can watch it unfold or become apart of it here
Twitch Plays Pokemon
warning (sound on)
It's addictive to both watch and to join in for past Pokemon players. It makes me want to get out my game boy or maybe pickup the new one's for 3DS. If you're nostalgic to recapture you childhoood or Pikachu, don't forget about the Pokemon at the Getty: Gym Leader Tournament!
happening Saturday, February 22, 2014, 3:00pm - 8:30pm at the Getty Museum, Los Angeles
1200 Getty Center Drive . It's Free, but parking nearby cost $15 and after 5pm $5. Maybe, the combined efforts of so many Twitch users will have beaten the game by then.
