I think I spotted a spelling error as mouths flapping not in tone with the voices of the Z Warriors from Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Z, already a dumb name looks to be another nail in the coffin for Namco Bandai.
Can they not make any good games anymore? How bad is their localization team? How can the controls and moves feel so worthless?
Just the menu
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Z menu system is somehow cheaper and less impressive than the last game I enjoyed in the series Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3, which came out on the PS2 in 2004. I had Master Roshi and Goku, sound clips, but that was a different publisher and developer. Somehow they can't afford Goku talking to me or some animation of the characters moving about?
That's just the menu system, the game play is just annoying. Different button combos give the same basic attacks that don't always connect to enemies. The ability to fly around has my Z Warrior never seeming to hit an enemy. When you do land a punch it seems enemies don't even care or have a response.
-A red Saibamen, so it's that cheap for enemies?
Did I mention the game introduces new characters based on the lastest DBZ movie from Japan. This would be great if anyone saw it here in the states. Funimation has given no announcement of it's release and I can tell you doesn't have plans into March to release it. A game with new unseen characters before anyone has even seen them ?
This game belongs ... not even in the past, I wanted to say PS2, but graphics and gameplay were better than this mess.
Don't waste your time trying the demo. Bandai Namco start working harder or be bought off and absorbed by another company soon enough.
It does have the voice cast from the US anime.
