Thor: The Dark World (Artist Panel / Book Signing) November 16, 2013 Nov 16, 3:00PM - 6:00PM

 Special guest Director Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones, West Wing, Sex in the City, Mad Men and more)
will be in attendance along with Story Artists Jane Wu (Avengers) and Bryan Andrews (Iron Man)

This artist panel will be highlighting the importance of visual story telling and the artists will tell us a bit about thier process as well pitch a few scenes from the film (there may be some offensive language) followed by a Q & A and book signing portion.

"Contracted tells the cautionary tale of Samantha, a twenty-something party girl with little discipline and even less direction. After experiencing a lapse in her relationship with her lover, she’s forced to move back in with her overbearing mother. Samantha’s only means to escape seems to come in the form of a flower competition that she’s determined to win. Things take a turn for the worse when Samantha spends the night with mysterious man, leaving her hung-over and guilt-ridden. However, something else is wrong with Samantha. "It’s rocket science in action again! NASA is ready to launch MAVEN, the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN mission, on Monday, November 18 – and you can be there. The Planetary Society is hosting a live launch party as the spacecraft leaves the Kennedy Space Center for the Red Planet. 

That’s it in a nutshell, but you can find out more and watch the launch live with Planetary Radio host Mat Kaplan, Society director of projects Bruce Betts, and the Society's planetary evangelist, Emily Lakdawalla, on stage at the Crawford Family Forum. Bill Nye the Science Guy will check in from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida with space celebrities, including planetary scientist and author Jim Bell and members of the MAVEN team. It’s the next stage in Mars exploration – don’t miss it!"
