Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights
September 20- Nov 2
Universal is going heavy with mazes based on current scare properties. The Walking Dead: No Safe Haven maze takes place from the third season of the show setting it in the jail, until you wind up in to good to be true Woodbury.
Other mazes will include Evil Dead: Book of the Dead, Black Sabbath: 13 3D, Insidious: Into The
Further.
El
Cucuy: The Boogeyman, a maze based on a
Latin American legend of a shape-shifting monster, with narration by
Danny Trejo. Universal Monster Remix: Resurrection brings back
old-school monsters with new music from DJ Figure, some of the monsters
are taken from a fan competition, others have been redesigned to look
modern.
New
scare zones based on The Purge and Curse of Chucky will be up and
running after you. Many of the best rides will be open to during the night. Knott's Scary Farm
September 26- Nov 2
New mazes this year include Black Magic, dead magicians. Mirror Mirror, step inside a mechanical steam punk backwards world. Let's not forget the brand new Gunslinger's Grave taking you back to the old west, good to see Knott's using that cowboy setting of the park to good use. The Forevermore maze looks very similar to Jack the Ripper's old maze from last year. This time the setting is based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe.
Now Knott's does beat the competition in live shows. Elvira will be there in person for her Sinema Seance or possibly someone who looks like her. Possessed might posses you to sit down and take a load off between being frightened in mazes and long lines.
Major rides on at night, so many roller coasters. Add scare areas to cross over through with cowboy ghosts and mechanical monsters and you have a wonderful evening at the park.
Trapped: The New Experiment has the special "pay for maze" that started last year set the skill level high. Of those trapped inside, there will be harder to figure out puzzles and new phobias to encounter.
The Queen Mary’s Annual Dark Harbor
October 3 through November 2
What's new this year other than the Lady Ringmaster?
"An all-new circus maze featuring a terrifying MAD house will disorient guest’s illusions through fatally horrific magic, paranormal wonders and spirited thrills like never before seen. A new freak show of devilish entertainers invites guests to “step right up” and experience fierce and terrifying freaks from beyond the grave. The new Coney Island inspired vintage circus ride “ferris-squel,” mini mazes and chilling side shows will have visitors shocked in awe.
The Ringmaster, The Captain and their gaggle of ghosts including Samuel the Savage, Graceful Gale, Half-Hatch Henry and Scary Mary have conjured up an all-new bloodcurdling vintage circus under the big top tent inside the deadly dome.'
