[de]-lusions of Grandeur, a Performance Project by Liz Glynn

Friday, April 19, 2013 | 7:30 pm
LACMA, Bing Theater

"In January 2013, Los Angeles–based artist Liz Glynn started a cycle of site-specific performances in response to monumental sculptures in LACMA’s collection. Glynn’s works consider the process of creating, moving, and erecting large-scale sculptures and the frequently Herculean human efforts necessary to do so."

Saturday, April 20, 2013 | 12 pm

"LACMA presents another special twenty-four-hour screening of Christian Marclay's The Clock beginning Saturday, April 20, at noon and ending at noon on Sunday, April 21. The Clock is a twenty-four-hour single-channel montage constructed from thousands of moments of cinema and television history depicting the passage of time. Marclay has excerpted each of these moments from their original contexts and edited them together to create a functioning timepiece synchronized to local time wherever it is viewed—marking the exact time in real time for the viewer for twenty-four consecutive hours."

Public opening: Sunday, April 21, 3pm-6pm The Museum of Contemporary Art
250 South Grand Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90012

"Spread across MOCA Grand Avenue and The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, the first survey in the United States of the Swiss-born artist Urs Fischer weaves together some of his most memorable and iconic sculptural works while creating an unexpected landscape in both venues. Fischer's world is fluctuating and unpredictable, and the pleasure that we derive from his sculpture and painting is based on our attraction to and simultaneous repulsion by the dreamlike appearances that he constructs"

This new, musical features original songs “Failure Is Just A Success That You Failed To Succeed At”, “What Billy Mitchell Wants Billy Mitchell Gets”, and “A Fistful Of Quarters Is A Fistful Of Dreams”.
