Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge(To be sung) To be a ninja. To slice up people's faces with my blades. To strike down foes with ninja stars up in their grillz. To disappear at will to only reappear while you're on the toilet to kill you. It's great being a ninja.
Just a little Ninja ditty for those wanting to be a ninja.
If it wasn't the portrayal of ninjas in today's media like GI Joe Retaliation's Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes would people still care about ninjas? The answer is; of course they would. Ninjas appear through countless video games and films, but today were looking at DOA's Ryu Hayabusa of the ninja Gaiden series.
Ryu's storyline in this tale is like much Japanese media, completely insane. After some weirdos in masks take England's government hostage Ryu has to save the day, but gets cursed a long the way. Ready yourself for a lot of story that needn't be there. You're a ninja, they're bad guys, they cursed you, kill them.
Kill them! Oh, you kill them with a huge list of moves and weapons at your discretion. The technology of the bow and arrow that graces Tomb Raider and Crysis 3 and every other action or shooter in the last couple of years makes it in here too. (The bow and arrow, this years main weapon for killing bad guys even though guns exist.) You don't really need a gun when you can summon fiery doom on enemies or slice them up with your sword or Wolverine like claws. There's some new weapons to try out all deadly all shiny and new. It's bloody, you are drenched in it after fights, but it's not always your enemies blood.
This isn't an easy game. You'll need to master your skills to make it through to defeat those who infected you and live out the poorly written drama. It might take some replays to pass a certian point, but eventually you'll get through the game. There's plenty of different locales to keep you entertained. Graphics are up to muster, but sometimes way too much is happening on screen in a fight.
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge isn't a new game, but all the DLC content with some extras not before released. You can play a challenge mode with Ayane, Momiji and Kasumi from DOA other than Hayabusa. They come with special costumes too as does Hayabusa. If you're a fan who didn't get the chance to get the game when it came out, well no you can with all the extras. This includes online play with other ninjas.
This game is a bit to hard to play for me, but those who like to get down and dirty and want to challenge themselves might find this a better play. Pick it up if you like being a ninja and it doesn't matter that you'll need some training to become a master.
