When a violent uprising of the undead forces two couples into hiding, infected spouses take a turn for the worse. Gary and Karen have tethered their stricken halves, Molly and Joe, for the safety of all; but as they fall deeper into sickness, the question of whether or not any part of their former selves remains becomes harder and harder to answer as they become more and more dangerous. As Gary and Karen come face to face with the true meaning of commitment, they must ask of each other: when does love die?

A chilling audio program immediately before curtain, written by John Santo and Dan Spurgeon and edited by Ross Patel, catapults the audience into the horrific world of THE REVENANTS. Sets by Christine Bartsch and lighting by Dave Sousa evoke the dark, cluttered basement where the two couples seek refuge as the world collapses around them.
Justin and Melissa Meyer (Where's My Head F/X), the special effects team behind the successful LA Haunted Hayride attraction, created the make-up effects that graphically depict Molly and Joe's transformation into flesh-eating zombies as THE REVENANTS progresses to its shocking and violent climax.
The Visceral Company is a new LA-based theatre company dedicated to works that explore the dark, strange and macabre. We hope to encourage further onstage exploration of the horror, thriller and science fiction genres, which have been underrepresented in theatre, and to build an appreciation of theatre in the younger audiences that are traditionally drawn to them.

Re-Animator - The Musical
I don't belive it, a musical based on the Re-Animator ....oh, thats just priceless. Plus, the people who did the special effects form the actual movie. The first shows are just preview nights the officail run starts March 5th. I love the theatrical poster by the way. I know they aren't called zombies, but technically the dead coming back to life, so I put them in the realm of zombies.

In 1985, Stuart Gordon directed his first feature film and created a sensation. It was “Re-Animator,” a smashing success based on a horror story by H.P. Lovecraft. The film delivered as many laughs as it did screams making it a cult classic among horror fans and winning a Critic’s Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Now, Gordon is back with his co-writers Dennis Paoli and William J. Norris and composer/lyricist Mark Nutter to turn “Re-Animator” into a musical for the stage.
The cast stars George Wendt (Cheers), Chris L. McKenna (King of the Ants), and Jesse Merlin (Star of The Beastly Bombing). Also starring, Rachel Avery, Mark Beltzman, Cynthia Carle, Brian Gillespie, and Liesel Hanson, and introducing Graham Skipper as Herbert West.
Special effects are being done by the same guys who did them for the 1985 movie: Tony Doublin, John Naulin and John Beuchler. And the blood will flow so freely that the first row will be designated as a “splash zone.” Needless to say, the show is not for small children.
You won’t want to miss “Re-Animator -The Musical.” It’s certain to inject some life into the spring stage season
