Waking Sleeping Beauty Interview
I asked some quick questions to one of the PR reps of Waking Sleeping Beauty, a documentary about Disney and the power struggles that went on behind the scenes to produce cartoons in the late 80's and early 90's , playing for one day at the Burbank 16 this Friday. Tickets won't be available till Tuesday. I'll post more info Wednesday.
One of the PR people James Lewis was nice enough to answer some of my questions about the film.
What is Waking Sleeping Beauty about?
I would encourage you to watch the trailer
(Bam trailer for you guys)
Why only one day at Amc Burbank 16? Any other plans on release?
To answer your question about one theater. Unless your Michael Moore, your lucky to get one screen to show a documentary in each market, its what all Docs go though to be seen. (Thats good to know if I ever make a documentary)
Anything to really look forward to about this movie? Like one big reveal or moment that the audience will go wow I didn't know that about Disney.
The film is definitely one to catch if your a fan of the Disney animated films that came out of the 80s and 90s. The insider perspective is told very creatively, its not just a bunch of talking heads, the entire picture is visually assembled from archived interviews obtained during that period of time at Disney and updated with narration only.
Well it's a movie I want to see and I know it'll do well on Netflix at the very least. Netflix streaming all the way.
